Pleased to say I got the harness repaired overnight for the princely sum of 5 euro (about 3 pound 75!). Took out my 2nd hand sail & crap mast & they¥re great! woo-hoo! But still problems slamming into the chop, and getting REALLY fed up with not being able to gybe, spending far too much time/energy/warmth in the water trying to waterstart. As for the chop-slamming, the full-on wind means that by the time I¥ve thought about unhooking to go for a jump, I¥ve already hit the wave hooked-in and going for the usual catapault...

I guess strong wind & lumpy chop doesn¥t really make for a good learning environment. Had a good time, though.
